The list of retro games available with PS Plus Premium exceeds 400 games. With so many possibilities, what are the ones you shouldn’t miss when the new subscription goes live this week?  Obviously, playstation 5, everything is a matter of taste, but to help you select the best PS Plus Premium retro games, we have made a list of titles that are truly essential.

We have tried to include games from older PlayStations (PSX and PS2 titles can be downloaded to our console, while PS3 games can only be enjoyed via streaming ). Some are still great games to this day, while others have entered our selection for their historical value, for what they meant at the time they were originally released. The history of PlayStation is not understood without any of these titles.

PULSE 3D Midnight Black Wireless Headset for PS5

Totally wireless headphones with USB adapter for PS5. Compatible with 3D audio from the new console, it is charged via USB-C and has double microphones for crystal clear conversations. And now, in gorgeous midnight black.

Get them at the best price.

And before launching into the selection of the best retro PSX, PS2 and PS3 games available on PS Plus Premium , we once again remind you of the three types of PS Plus subscription and the price of each one of them. Retro games are only available with Premium mode.

    • PlayStation Plus Essential – €8.99 per month / €24.99 per quarter / €59.99 per year
    • PlayStation Plus Extra – €13.99 per month / €39.99 per quarter / €99.99 per year
    • PlayStation Plus Premium – €16.99 per month / €49.99 per quarter / €119.99 per year

    1. Ape Escape (PSX)

Sony Japan Studio released this cute game in 1999 (one of the first to take advantage of the dual analog sticks on the Dualshock controller). Our objective was to catch some mischievous monkeys, in a development of action, platforms and infiltration in 3D .

    2. Ashura’s Wrath (PS3)

Cyberconnect 2 and Capcom released this fighting game with a strong narrative component in 2012 . At the time, the amount of QTE sequences that , ps5 price in Bangladesh, dotted the development (and that it was unfinished) was criticized, but today it has become a cult game.

As we have anticipated, the “real” ending of the game (one of the craziest sequences video games have given us) was not available on the disc.

    3. Batman Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins (PS3)

The original trilogy was released on PS3, although on PS Plus Premium we get the chance to play the remastered versions of the Return To Arkham collection .

It is a set of adventures developed by Rocksteady (the first two) and Warner Bros Montreal (Origin) that do justice to the dark knight. Here you have the analysis of Batman Return to Arkham .

    4. Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite (PS3)

Reliving the Classics: The Must-Play Retro PSX, PS2, and PS3 Games on PS Plus Premium for 2023 16

Although the games were originally released on PlayStation 3, we can enjoy the remastered versions of the Bioshock trilogy. It is a series of first-person games, which to this day are remembered -especially the first and third- for their epic plot twists.

Relax, we are not going to make any spoilers. If you haven’t played it yet, it’s time to travel to the cities of Rapture and Columbia and enjoy this alternate history, will you?

    5. Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicle (PS2)

A series of role-playing games (with management and construction elements) that Level-5 developed together with Sony Computer Entertainment. Initially, Dark Cloud was going to be a PS2 launch game – its images were used to demonstrate the possibilities of the console – although it suffered a slight delay to polish some elements.

They are games with innovative ideas, such as randomly generated dungeons in each game, and with robust object creation systems. Without a doubt, two great J-RPGs that any fan should try.

    6. Demon’s Souls (PS3)

It can be considered the starting gun for “souls” type games. Hidetaka Miyazaki and From Software’s game was originally released on PS3 in 2009, laying the foundation for the soulslike games we know.

It may not have been the first and many of its ideas were already in Demon’s Souls, such as recovering souls from fallen enemies and of course its high level of difficulty, but it is still one of the best in its genre.

    7. Devil May Cry Saga (PS2/ PS3)

The subscription to PS Plus Premium includes the first 4 installments of the saga. Devil May Cry 1, 2 and 3 were originally released for PS2, but can be played in the remastered version that was released as a compilation: Devil May Cry HD Collection. For its part, Devil May Cry 4 is the 2008 version for PS3.

It is a saga with which Capcom revolutionized the “hack’n slash”, and introduced a group of stylish demon hunters . A work that has the signature of Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil) and Hideki Kamiya (Bayonetta). Save for the questionable DmC2, they’re all cinnamon sticks, and one of the best PS Plus Premium retro games .

    8. God of War Saga (PS2/PS3)

    God of War III Remastered
Reliving the Classics: The Must-Play Retro PSX, PS2, and PS3 Games on PS Plus Premium for 2023 17

The PS Plus Premium subscription includes the first two installments of God of War for PS2, plus God of War III remastered and the prequel God of War Ascension . In other words, we will be able to enjoy the complete saga of Kratos in Greek mythology (not counting the portable games Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus).

The Santa Monica Studios games are spectacular action developments, bloody and full of memorable moments, which draw one of the best anti-heroes in video games. Here you have the analysis of God of War III Remastered .

    9. Gravity Rush (PS Vita)

Gravity Rush was released on PlayStation Vita in 2012 to win over a good number of users who have come to consider Keiichiro Toyama’s work as one of the best games in Sony’s portable console catalog .

On PS Plus, we have access to the remastered version for PS4 , made by BluePoint Games. It is an open development game, in which we play with gravity to move through the air and complete different missions in the city of Hekseville. Here we leave you the analysis of Gravity Rush Remastered .

    10. ICO (PS2)

The first Team Ico game (Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian) that revealed to us the artistic vision of Fumito Ueda , a game that without words said a lot through the gestures and expressiveness of its protagonists.

It is a very evocative adventure, in a minimalist style, in which we control Ico, who must accompany Princess Yorda to escape from a fortress in which fearsome shadows rule and try to take her away.

    11. Jack & Daxter, Jak II and Jak 3 (PS2)

The complete Jak & Daxter saga (also the racing game Jak X: Combat Racing) is available on PS Plus Premium . Here we highlight the original trilogy, which was released on PS2 from 2001 to 2004 and is signed by Naughty Dog Studios.
